[Video] NYPD Police Throw Ebola Protective Gear In Public Trash Can On Street

After the officers went to Ebola patient’s Craig Spencer’s apartment, they walked down a public street with protective gear of latex gloves and face masks still on, and yellow crime scene tape in their hand. After throwing away the crime scene tape in an open trash can on the street, they removed their gloves and face masks and also threw them away in the trash bin.

  3. And the insanity is increasing daily. Many years ago, Erich Fromm wrote a book entitled _The Insane Society_. That book was quite omniscient. In the minuscule hope of restraining some of this insanity, the sane survivors should still register their protest of the growing lunacy of this waning world. Don't worry about climate change or the demise of the sun as it becomes a red giant in the future. The human race will be drastically altered by activities of individual insane humans long before scheduled natural catastrophes occur.

  5. Lts's give the Officers the benefit of the doubt here... they are most likely NOT EMTs (That would be the folks in the ESU-Emergency Services Unit- their SWAT & Tactical Unit), so we can probably assume that they didn't quite understand the Bio Hazard Disposal rules for this type of contaminated equipment. Sounds to me like NYPD needs to add some In Service Training regarding Bio Hazard issues, but although this is a lapse in Training, that would seem to be ALL it is. Yes, people are right to be upset, but perhaps this is just an oversight, but not anything malicious. BTW, I am a retired Police Officer and an EMT , so perhaps I have a clearer understanding of this issue than the poster.
