Poll: 62 Percent Of Americans Believe Ebola Outbreak Is Likely

Over 60 percent of Americans believe that Ebola is “likely” to break out in the United States, according to a new poll, despite President Obama’s assurances to the contrary.

(NRO) "Now, 62 percent of Americans tell Reason-Rupe an Ebola outbreak in a US city is likely, while 36 percent say an outbreak in the US is not likely," Reason reports. "Twenty-three percent of the public believes an Ebola outbreak in a US city is 'very likely' and 39 percent say it is 'somewhat likely.'" In August, just 40 percent of Americans thought an outbreak would take place.

One person who contracted the disease died shortly after coming to the United States.

"We had one case and I think there may be other cases, and I think we have to recognize that as a nation," Health and Human Services Secretary Sylvia Burwell told reporters Thursday morning.

  1. Our president can take the full blame for the spreading of Ebola in our country by not banning flights to and from the countries where this disease originated. The precautions being taken at the airports are a "joke" and does not do anything to prevent this disease from infected American citizens, not to mention allowing illegal immigrant children into our schools without health physicals and immunizations to spread diseases.

  2. This is absurd. Let's take a poll on how fatal rabies is. These are not poll questions and opinion means nothing when it comes to biology.

  3. Too many stupid people listening too much to Fox News (NOT).
They have over blown the degree of transmit ability vastly. Yes, Ebola is a nasty disease, but the various varieties of flue, each year, kills many times the number that Ebola does.
