Democrats Join The 'Birther' Bandwagon

Now that there are rumblings that Ted Cruz should run for president, the left is suddenly taking the 'birther' debate seriously...

Editor's Note: While Cruz's citizenship is not in doubt (we wish we could say the same for Barack Obama), the question remains as to whether or not he is a "natural born citizen" ...

(Human Events) For some reason, a little thundercloud of "controversy" over his eligibility to serve as President of the United States has been hovering over Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX).

On Sunday, he took it seriously enough to release his birth certificate to the Dallas Morning News, which dutifully ran with an image of the document in question. It does not seem to have taken Senator Cruz very long to locate his birth certificate, and very little drama was involved.

The reason this is a big deal, to the people making a big deal about it, is that Cruz was born in Canada to an American mother. This technically makes him a citizen of both Canada and the United States, under the laws of the respective countries. As the Dallas Morning News explains.

    2. From the sound of it, and from what I know about Mr. Cruz, Ted is NOT a Natural Born Citizen according to the definition of that term in the book "The Laws of Nations" and by the wording of the SCOTUS justice in the Minor vs. Happerset decision.
Surprisingly, the fact Ted he was born in Canada isn't the disqualifying issue, but that BOTH of his parents had to be American citizens at the time of his birth for him to be considered "Natural Born". If just his mother was a U.S. citizen, he would not fit the bill.
Yes, of course this also means that Obama is NOT natural born either, even by his own admission, IF Barack Obama Sr. is indeed his father; to which there is also considerable doubt about that as well...
Marco Rubio is probably also not "Natural Born" by definition either. Even though he definitely was born in the US, due to both of his parents being citizens of Cuba at the time of his birth (I believe), he also doesn't pass muster...

  2. I didn't know that Ted's mother was a citizen so I wasn't sure he was qualified. I believe he is, and is proud to be a citizen. I'd surely be proud to have him as our President. His words make clear his love for this nation and his willingness to serve it as our forefathers wanted done.

    1. Both parents have to be citizens.

Got a kick out of your sarcasm.

    2. I'd surely be proud to have him as our President.? Apparently you don't give a damn what the Constitution "mandates" either. IF the constitution is the "supreme law of the land" why would anybody with a lick of sense be "proud" to have another usurper in the WH violating the "supreme law of the land"? Last time I checked impersonating a public official was a very severe offense!

Obviously, being a citizen doesn't mean "natural born". Alot of pundits like to try and confuse the issue. However, words have meaning, and for those who will listen, the enunciation of truth.

Like it OR not, the constitution "mandates" it. In any case "arising" under the constitution that is filed there has to be a "case or controversey". Either concrete or imminent for the courts to have jurisdiction and the plaintiff to have standing. Voiding about 99% of the "judgements" rendered in the last 50+ years.

It's up to the so-called courts to finally adjudicate it! Then we'll all know who IS and who ISN'T eligible. Remember the 50 states are "constitutional REPUBLICS" UNDER THE "COMMON LAW"!

The common law comes from decisions by the "real" courts. (If you can find one?) Just because you like the guy, and I believe he'd like to be on the People's side,, doesn't mean anybody or everybody can brush (the constitution) aside because they happen to like the guy.

  3. He probably got it cheap and fast from Hawaii. Doesn't matter that it's actually 3 documents overlaid to make one. Hey, if it works for Obama, should be okay for him. LOL
