Soon... Moochers Might Be Able To Receive Food Stamps Over The Phone

Because... let's face it... mooching off of the taxpayers these days is just too damn hard...






(Daily Caller) Soon it could be possible to apply for food stamps over the phone, with proponents arguing that in-person interviews add too much extra administrative cost.

A report from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) looked at whether it should get rid of in-person interviews for those who apply to receive benefits under the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), which is commonly known as food stamps. The program is the nation’s largest food-assistance program.

"Regulations require that states conduct face-to-face interviews, unless the state determines that a telephone interview is acceptable due to a hardship on the client," the report details. “However, over the last decade, most states applied for and received waivers that allow for telephone interviews in all cases, without the need to document a hardship.”

Noting the time requirements and the administration costs, the USDA with the Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) conducted a limited real-world test to see if the in-person interviews are needed...

  8. So, the rest of the military must succumb to the whimsical religion of atheism, but it is not allowed to have a religion? Has anybody tried to explain the non-logic of that stance to these idiots? We have within our country an insurgency, originating with Satanic beliefs and carried to us through communist and collective thought. It becomes so powerful, it seems to have a life of its own.

    Our Constitution should protect us from these diabolical influences, but the PC movement has given it a layer of protection not earned.   31. Oh, Mother Theresa is a whole 'nuther issue. There is no doubt that some atheists in history have been brutal murderers. The same can be said of many christians, jews (though not so much in modern times, but if you believe your bible, then most certainly so), and obviously muslims on a daily basis these days. And just because Mother T wasn't a mass murderer doesn't qualify her as a saint. She did nothing that required a belief in a supernatural being.

You must not know that she was interviewed on why the Missionaries of Charity began in Calcutta picking up the ding...Jesus appeared to her and spoke directly to her. He called and clearly empowered her. It is easy to judge a Saint from afar. I do not know what has embittered you to Jesus, but I can tell you dear sir that I write you because I experience His supernatural love and presence daily, in the same Church Mother Theresa and Pope Francis do. Mother Theresa based her spirituality on that of St.Therese of Lisieuex, a Sister in France who died at 24, Dhe was canonized as the greatest Saint of modern times, and the miracles are world wide thru her intercession. She promised to come down from heaven after her death to help humanity in need, and she does. Christ is real, HIs death out of love to redeem and give us eternal life... and Mother Theresa is one example of someone who knew Jesus and lived that love in the world. I hope you can experience what I experienced when her Sisters prayed in our Church 2 miles from my home (they do sork 25 miles from here and traveled to our parish to pray their daily prayers) The presence and power of Joy and Love was beyond any words sir because they live in union with the Risen Savior and love Him as their founder taught : Jesus in His distressing disguise of the poorest. Life has profound and eternal significance, dear sir!

Had you been born to different parents or within a community with a different background, then you would almost certainly share a different set of beliefs. And you cannot invoke the hand of god to say he put you there in that community with those parents to do his will and not also sanctify the sincerity of the suicide bomber who kills Christian infidels in order to secure his place in the afterlife.

Knowing God's love and power, I don't even need to answer the delusional accusation. God is the ultimate reality, and realying on arrogant atheist arguments may enforce your beliefs, but men are not the source of mine...they can lead a person to water, but we all have the choice whether we will drink and experience the truth for ourselves.   37. There is, by definition, nothing objective about your personal experiences. The very nature of them is delusional. My belief that your god does not exist is shared by most of the world and requires no faith at all. As an atheist, I also do not believe in the existence of anyone else's god. If you desire others to drink your cool aid, you will need to be able to demonstrate that it's real objectively. That is, so that others can observe it in an objective manner without the need of faith and emotional commitment before the fact.

    The fact remains that our military has a need for stringent standards with respect to the competence of its leaders. General Olson has demonstrated a lack of regard and adherence to those standards.

    I'm sorry, but faith is not a valid substitute for competence. Don't believe for an instant that our enemies lack religious faith in a god, the nature of which eveyoa Christian would probably find appalling.

Your view of Mother Teresa is a product of media hype. Anyone can write beautiful prose of love and joy, but those who have studied the reality of her treatment of the patience she "treated" in her "hospital." She housed the poor who had nowhere to turn in the shoddiest of conditions without access to practical medical care while she had access to millions of dollars that she did not put use in that care. She is just another lie perpetrated by the Vatican. You want cynical? You won't find a better example than the Catholic church.

Unlike you, this Jewish doctor was intellectually honest and objective and so converted to the Catholic Faith. Did you know that THOUSANDS of Holy Communion consecrated hosts have turned to blood and flesh and ALL over the WORLD they have the exact same blood type -AB+ ? Did you know tat the thousands of canonized Saints have scientifically investigated miracles occur after death which is required by the Church as part of confirmation they are in eternal life with God? Did you know how many scientists wrote documented testimonials of the miraculous cures at Lourdes, France, where St. Bernadette (whose body is also incorrupt) saw and spoke to Mary, t Mother of Christ? They state observations, not the emotional nonsense you falsely accuse Christians of. You sir have emotional bias...arrogant elitist anti-Christian preference for the cool-aid of your lost peers. I prefer objective fact, and NOWHERE in the universe can any law produce something from nothing.
