Son Of Soros Hosts High Dollar Fundraiser For 'Independent' Senate Candidate

The son of billionaire and Democratic donor George Soros will host a fundraiser for independent Greg Orman, who is running against Republican incumbent Pat Roberts in Kansas' U.S. Senate election.

(NewsMax) Last month, Democratic candidate Chad Taylor withdrew from the race, leaving one serious challenger — Orman — to face Roberts. If Orman wins, there is talk that he will align himself with Democrats to skew the balance of power in the Senate. Republicans need to gain six seats to take control of the chamber.

Orman has made it clear he is not tied to the Democratic Party. America Rising, however, uncovered the invitation to this week's fundraiser, which will be hosted by, among other people, Jonathan Soros.

Scheduled for Wednesday evening, the fundraiser will take place at the home of Karen and John Petry in New York City, and carries a donation limit of up to $5,200 per couple.
