Ebola: Bible End Times And End Of The World Prophecy

Combining the Ebola, Bible end times theology and end of the world conspiracy theories may sound a lot like fear mongering to some people. But according to molecular biologist Sharon K. Gilbert, it’s a serious topic worth exploring.

(Inquistr) In a related report by the Inquisitr, some Christians believe the Ebola virus could evolve to the point that it becomes deadly enough to meet the standard for the Bible’s end of times prophecy, which predicts a quarter of the world’s population will die from diseases before the end of the world. Evangelist Franklin Graham has made the Ebola, Bible connection in the past, but does so only in the context of asking Christians to be spiritually ready for the end of the world.

While the headlines about the Ebola virus outbreak may be scary, the fact that it’s mode of transmission is limited to physical touch greatly reduces the risk of a serious epidemic reaching Biblical proportions. Scientists also deny that Ebola is airborne, but the scientific distinction becomes a little bit muddled to the average person because it’s still possible to transfer the Ebola virus through “aerosol transmission.” Unfortunately, some scientists also admit that it could be possible to genetically engineer an artificial virus that could merge the properties of rabies, influenza, and the Ebola viruses in order to create a supervirus capable of meeting the Bible end times standards.

But some Christian leaders like Pastor Matthew Hagee of the Cornerstone Church in San Antonio, Texas say the Ebola virus may be specifically mentioned in the Bible when Jesus warns of famine and pestilence.

  1. The flu is a much greater threat than Ebola.
To get ebola, you must have direct contact with infected body fluids.
