Republicans Seeking Revenge Against Ted Cruz

Even the blind squirrel finds the occasional nut. Ignore the idiotic assumption that Republicans lose elections because they aren't liberal enough. Otherwise, TIME magazine lays out the case as to how the GOP Establishment is planning to take a bite out of Ted Cruz.

(TIME) "He’s the last person Wall Street would give money to," says a big Republican donor. "They’re more interested in a Chris Christie or Jeb Bush. Even Rand Paul would be a preferable alternative to Cruz. How [Cruz] is going to run for President without big donors is beyond me."

Cruz’s office did not return a message seeking comment. Not only are business groups not giving to Cruz, they aren’t giving to many of the outlets that helped elect him, like the Senate Conservatives Fund. “There’s been a push to consolidate the party behind the Establishment..."

Turning off the big money taps is just one form of revenge. Another is committee assignments. There have not been any overt threats to strip Cruz of committee assignments, but if he refuses to vote for Mitch McConnell for leader next year, that could change. Cruz in February declined to commit to voting for McConnell for leader.

"If Cruz votes against McConnell and decides he’s not going to be caucusing with Republicans, kicking him off all his committees is an obvious move," Feehery says. "This is how [House Speaker John] Boehner is thinking about punishing those who vote against him speaker: no committee assignments and make sure that they get no money from" Republican campaign groups.

  1. What a bunch of pompas, self aggrandizing ass holes! I hope Cruz beats the h*ll out of them. If he runs for office, the "little guys" have got to send him money for the run or he won't be able to make it. I will be donating to his election campaign!

    2. I will also give as much as possible if he runs, The establishment republicans are ass holes and if they continue to fight real conservatives they just might find themselves out of work!. Ted Cruz has suck to the principals that got him elected, Unlike John McCain, Lindsey Graham, And Mitch McConnell. After watching House Republicans vote for gun control and giving voters the finger, I have had it with these cowards.

    3. We need to take them down one at a time. If they want to know how to fight Crazy Horse style we should make sure we teach a good lesson

    5. I like Cruz, but Senators don't have the tickets to be Prez. I'd support him for VP, but I think the next Prez should be a Governor or a non-politician business person. As for Hillary the Schlepper, not a chance.

    6. The Rinos had better be careful about targeting Ted Cruz. The Tea Partiers will get them. Ted Cruz is a very well liked conservative who listens to the people.

  4. What is wrong with you Republicans, we don't have enough trouble, and you got to pull a stunt like this. I have had it. I am going to join the T-Party, I sure hope a lot of other will think this over. If they pull this now, what will we have in the near future another Obama group just with a different name.... known as Republicans. Grow up you old guys start acting like what your job requires. Stop this pissing match, WE THE PEOPLE, don't need this crap. Let Cruz alone, he is what most Americans want right now. For god sakes, you greedy Republicans, move over and listen to what WE THE PEOPLE are saying. We've had 6 years of Obama, we don't need another four years of you old men doing this crap.

  6. Stupid, jealous, childish behavior!! In order to dump the lousey muslim fool who stinks up our White House there must be team work! Jealousy prevails when there must be fierce teamwork, to dump the liberal democratic crowd.

  7. I think Cruz would be a good guy to have in the white house because he is not afraid to open his mouth and get the balls rolling again. I think Christie was a great guy for the WH also but I think he has soften on Osama care and even dealing with these demoncrap pigs, Jeb Bush would be great but I don't care for his idea about the illegal aliens in this country because he is married to a Mexican I believe. Jeb has some great ideas though on other things. Mc Connell has become a career politician and has delt with Reid to many times and I believe he needs to go now and replace him with another that wants to do the job for the people, not the party.

  8. I sent you an e-mail earlier where I expressed that the Tea Party and the Republican base should accommodate each other in order to win the upcoming elections.
I want to be clear on these points:
There are millions of non Tea Party republicans.
There are millions of Tea Party members.

If the base attacks the Tea Party, the base will LOSE millions of Tea Party votes.
If the Tea Party attacks the base, the Tea Party will LOSE millions of the base and non Tea Party members.

    WHO WINS ?

    The damned Democrats.

    AND WHY ?

because the base and TP cannot and will not use common sense. They can't get past their squabbles and therefore can't see how it hurts them. Forest Gump's mom said it best: STUPID IS AS STUPID DOES.

Get over your bullcrap about each other and work together to beat the FN Dems.

The Dems constantly attack the Tea Party, calling them all sorts of names. And what do you guys do ? You call the Republican base all sorts of names. And the base calls you names..
The Dems ARE AFRAID of the power of the conservative right wing and in particular the Tea Party. Start calling the Dems all sorts of names. Here are a few:

The Dems are the party of NO. They refused to even look at the over 100 spending bills the house the house passed. Reid said DEAD ON ARRIVAL. and Who says no ?
The Dems refused to negotiate on dozens of issues. (they name-called i.e. terrorists
idiots etc) They won't cooperate with a house committee on Benghazi (which possibly is unconstitutioal)
Their phony "war on women" b.s. should be thrown back at them. The White House pay women less than men.
They screwed up the economy with Obamacare, spending MILLIONS (billions ?) on solar panel companies that went bankrupt, they refused the Keystone pipeline which would have improved our economy greatly. They increased the debt to an all time record high. They continue to spend and not even consider any spending cuts. They raised taxes to high levels and created HUNDREDS of new or higher taxes .The income inequality b.s. The Fed with Q.E. made the rich richer. They are destroying the Middle Class. Under the Dems, the Chinese will surpass the U.S. on the economy.
Under the Dems, and possibly, the U.S. will no longer be the world reserve currency, thereby causing inflation and the inability of the Fed to create more paper money.
    etc etc etc.

SO WORK TOGETHER WITH THE BASE.

THE GOAL IS TO WIN THE ELECTIONS.

    Don't be schmucks.

PLEASE PASS THIS ON TO BOEHNER, ROVE AND THE RNC.

    1. "If the Tea Party attacks the base, the Tea Party will LOSE millions of the base and non Tea Party members."

      1) The Tea Party IS the base.
      2) It's not the Tea Party that is doing the attacking.

Your point about working together is well-taken but that message needs to be directed to GOP elites in Washington.

  9. The Establishment Republicans are why I really no longer consider myself a Republican. I have not yet changed my voter registration to "Independent" or "Libertarian" or "Constitution" because I still have a tiny hope that the GOP can be reformed, but odds are it can't be reformed and, like the Democratic Party, is for big, Unconstitutional government that is heading us rapidly towards monetary & financial collapse as well as towards a police state.

  10. It's nice to have a senator who actually does what he said he would do. Shake things up. Too many of the crony's have been there so long that they think the government belongs o them instead of to the people.

  11. We don't want a republican that kisses others to get their vote. We want someone like Ted Cruz that is not afraid to speak up.Wake up America! Stand for what is right!

  12. While I agree that the bickering between conservatives and republicans needs to end, it would be nice if the republicans would start acting like they were involved instead of letting Mr. O do what ever he damn well pleases, and damn the Constitution of the United States and our American Citizens. If the republicans are all willing to push for the one-world government, which appears to be their agenda, then we don't need them in the governing process. This is America, a Constitutional Republic, we need to keep it that way, regardless of political party.

  13. If the TIMES will spend this many column inches in an attempt to derail the fast moving locomotive that is Ted Cruz...... then you KNOW that they fear him! All one ever has to do is read rags like the NYT to know who the leftists fear the most as they used their influence to try to steer others to republican candidates whom THEY prefer we nominate.

"Gee Wally! What a swell idea! Let's nominate someone the leftists approve of. We're SURE to win then. They said so in the TIMES!"

Falling for that trap 90% of the time hasn't helped the cause lately nor has the republican establishment mentality of "eating their own" if they run contrary to what the RINO's dictate.

Any establishment republican will spend 200 times MORE effort to "get" someone like Senator Cruz than they will opposing liberal schemes or demanding that obama PROVE that he is constitutionally qualified to sit in the big chair. Pure and simple.... *everyone* in DC is scared to death of people like Cruz and Lee because they know that we the people like what they are doing. And our government has gone from being of, by and for the people to 100% AT the people. Folks in power always fear loosing it.

  14. Do your job and quit trying to make every Republican a carbon copy of all the traitors so you can justify what you do. It is not what you were hired to do. So stop the malarkey and work together to save our country under our laws. Quit the Washington games or get out.

  15. We want Ted Cruz or someone like Ted Cruz! I will vote for the TEA Party. And so will everyone else that believes that they are TAXED ENOUGH ALREADY! Which is what the Tea Party stands for. They also believe in Constitutional government. Who wouldn't like that? I sure don't want other people listening to my phone conversations, or tapping into my internet. WTH is wrong with you people that wants a continuation for Barack II? F**K Hillary! She is a has been that has NOT ACCOMPLISHED ONE DAMN thing! We have lived for hundreds of years by the Constitution & I believe it to be KEPT in what our founding fathers wanted to make this a great nation. We have a country founded on the morals & principals of right & wrong. Not on who is only out for themselves. I would rather see a Tea Party in the White House than that scum sucking pile of monkey shit we have now as the resident int he white house. Nothing could be worse unless it was Hillary the butcher Bitch of Benghazi where she managed to get 4 of our men killed after they were tortured for hours!
