Sarah Palin: Paul Ryan's Budget Proposal Is 'A Joke'

Palin unloads on the budget being proposed by Paul Ryan on her Facebook page and calls it a "joke." Well. Ryan did released it on April Fools Day...

Pundit Dick Morris also sums up the problems in Ryan's proposal with the statement: "The key line in the Medicare changes outlined in the program is the phrase 'beginning in 2024.'"

Ryan or Palin? Which of these combatants in the 'Battle Of The Former Vice-Presidential Candidates' speaks for you. Let us know your thoughts.

(Sarah Palin) The latest Ryan (R, Wisconsin) Budget is not an April Fool’s joke. But it really IS a joke because it is STILL not seeing the problem;

It STILL is not proposing reining in wasteful government overspending TODAY, instead of speculating years out that some future Congress and White House may possibly, hopefully, eh-who-knows, take responsibility for today’s budgetary selfishness and shortsightedness to do so.

THIS is the definition of insanity. Do we still not understand how dangerous it is to allow government to grow unchecked as we shackle ourselves with massive debt – a good portion of which is held by foreign nations who don’t necessarily like us?

If we can’t balance the budget today, what on earth makes us think it will happen at some future date? The solution is staring us in the face. We need to rein in spending today, and don’t tell me there is nothing to cut when we know every omnibus bill is loaded with pork and kickbacks.

  1. I'd do it in 8 YEARS. I'd also PHASE-OUT Medicare in 15 years. Office calls would be $10. & Aspirin .01 cents per 100. Bring our military back up to the 2000 level, but NOT on the backs of OUR "National" Guard. Bring back a modest DRAFT.
    God Bless America...Again...SOON,
    JIMBO aka an ole REAGANITE

  4. Let's not be afraid to criticize ANY pol who doesn't have the best interests of our country at heart, regardless of the label they wear. If we can't criticize a republican, what about a RINO? Where does it stop? The truth is, Palin is right, and any thinking person knows that she's right. We need to get the budget under control NOW, now 10 years from now, which has to come with a huge "maybe" attached to it. Ryan's got some great ideas, but his timing sucks; we don't have 10 years. So why don't Ryan and Palin work together and get us a plan for success this year?

  5. Many people want to put Paul Ryan up for the white house, but I don't think he has what it takes to do the job anymore and he has grown to be the same as the demoncrap pigs. His budget cuts 5 trillion from the deficit over a 10 year period but not at the expense of the other people who have worked all their lives and then he wants to cut their medicare and other thing that we have come to depend on. When are these pig ever going to look at themselves and take the hit for us for a change as we have many times over the years.

    1. About half of the federal budget is Social Security and Medicare. Those entitlements are the elephants in the room and need to be deal with, too, or else we're never going to get the debt under control. We can't pretend they're not a problem. They're the BIGGEST problems driving the federal debt.

We have to get off SS and to a system where the people are encouraged to save their own money tax-free, not having today's workers support yesterday's workers who are now retired. It's a Ponzi scheme that doesn't work anymore. There are too many old people now and not enough younger workers paying into the system to keep it afloat.

    2. SS and medicare were earned and is owed. What needs to be cut is welfare and medicaid and go to workfare instead.

  6. When the Congress and President stand up and cut their pay in half, then repeal their "retirement" plan for working only 8-12 years, Then, and only then, do they have a right to screw with my retirement and health insurance to help balance the budget.
When they learn to live within a budget and STOP borrowing beyond their means to repay, THEN, and only then, have they earned the right to determine how much money I need to survive.

  7. Sooner or later we all will have to wake up and realize that the Federal Government is completely out of control.... We must dismantle all of these Federal Agencies that are not called out in our Constitution. Read it and see the ones NOT AUTHORIZED.
    Dept of Education
    Dept of Energy
Dept of Health and Human Services
    Dept of the INterior
and all of the rest of the Alphabet Agencies....
We have some 22 million Federal Employees and a gainfully employeed Citzenry of some 110 million. Do the math, this is not sustainable.....
It is time to draw down the Federal Bureaucracy....
Palin is correct we must stop ObamaCare and begin the process of tearing down this Communist Empire NOW!! Not tomorrow or next week we need to start today and fight all spending except for DEFENSE of the Nation.....
We need to understand that Social Security was a Ponzi Scheme and we were forced to participate by the Federal Government, there was nothing voluntary in the program, you paid or you went to jail, period.
It is time for all good men to come to the aid of their Country and their Freedom.......
