Court Rules Christians Must Surrender Their Faith

It didn't happen in Europe, but here in the United States and the court ruled that surrendering your Christian beliefs "is the price of citizenship."

(Red State) The case centered around Elaine Huguenin, a Christian in New Mexico who owned a photography business. She was asked to provide services to a gay commitment ceremony between two lesbians, Vanessa Willock and her partner. Ms. Huguenin and her husband declined to provide their services because they are Christians and the orthodox tenets of their faith tell them that marriage is between a man and a woman. See e.g. Matthew 19.

Vanessa Willock, in an act of spite and retribution, decided to file a discrimination claim and punish Mrs. Huguenin for adhering to her religious beliefs. In a very profound decision, the New Mexico Supreme Court ruled that Christians, Muslims, Orthodox Jews, and others must surrender the faithful practice of their religion in the name of citizenship.

In fact, Justice Richard Bosson in a concurring opinion, wrote: "At its heart, this case teaches that at some point in our lives all of us must compromise, if only a little, to accommodate the contrasting values of others…. That compromise is part of the glue that holds us together as a nation, the tolerance that lubricates the varied moving parts of us as a people…. In short, I would say to the Huguenins, with the utmost respect: it is the price of citizenship."

  1. They have to refuse and go against the State because their loyalty is first to God who hates the practice of homosexuality and all sin. As for that judge, there is a verse in the Bible that says that if someone causes one of my little ones to sin, it would be best if a millstone were put around his neck and he dropped into the midst of the sea. Therefore if the judge causes the couple to sin, if she repents, that she will have guilt all her life and if she does not, she will wind up in hell. And that will be a lonely place, she will be unable to see others tormented as herself.

  2. What about businesses that have signs up that say we reserve the right to refuse service to anyone. Does this mean now that if you own your business you have no say about whom you serve. This is wrong on many levels. I would appeal

  3. So according to this judge Christians have to compromise their principles as a price for citizenship. Then Hobby Lobby can be forced to stay opened on Sundays, Jews and Seventh-Day-Adventist can be forced to do business on Saturday.
Wonder if the Photography business had been owned a Moslem would the decision been the same?

  4. This is where separation of church and state should happen. The judge is in the wrong and the abnormal people whining to this judge are a stain on the U.S.A..

  5. The price of citizenship is not the denial of your own beliefs. Justice Richard Bosson is an obviously liberally activist judge signing on to the idiot world of political correctness. If a gay couple are refused a marriage ceremony based on the beliefs of the ceremonial minister, then they have an option, go elsewhere until they find someone compatible to their need. This is just a contemptible way of a a couple trying to make a fast buck through the court system probably to help pay for the wedding. Idiot liberal judges abound throughout the judicial system, so it's not hard to cash in on the "gay" lifestyle at the expense of heterosexuals with God fearing Christian beliefs. We currently live in a nation of morons so this is not a surprising story given who the morons put in the highest office of the land, El Presidente Obuttbrain.

    1. Absolutely. Citizenship has absolutely nothing to do with faith. This judge is a progressive twit. Nothing in our Constitution states that a person must denounce his faith before becoming a citizen. This should be appealed to the SCOTUS, but knowing this bunch of crazies, they will probably default to the lower twit.

  6. I thought it was religious freedom that prompted our forefathers to come and settle in America. Now we are again being punished because of our beliefs?? Politiccal correctness (along with some other things - like the demise of the family, lack of responsibility, "let's make everyone winners", etc.) are heading America down the path of destruction!!

  7. The Court can go to Hell. I will NEVER surrender my belief in God! Nor will I ever stop praying to him. This regime is the anti-christ and anyone who gives into them will not see Heaven. You either stand firm for God or you do not. Your Choice. Never will I give in to these despots! Where are those who are supposed to be protecting the Constituion, Bill of Rights and Declaration of Independence. I hope they all end up in Prison.

    2. A lot of these people who are supposed to be protecting our constitution will end up in Hell with this judge! When you go up against God, you lose.

  8. I think that Justice Richard Bosson, is completely wrong in the way he wrote his decision. This has NOTHING to do with giving up your religion for "the price of your citizenship!" It may have something with putting your religious or personal feelings aside being the price of doing commercial business, but not your citizenship.

  9. So, Justice Richard Bosson in a concurring opinion, wrote: "At its heart, this case teaches that at some point in our lives all of us must compromise, if only a little, to accommodate the contrasting values of others…. That compromise is part of the glue that holds us together as a nation, the tolerance that lubricates the varied moving parts of us as a people…. Hello?

  10. This case merely exposes the constitutional crisis created when we make laws to accomodate amoral behavior.
There needs to be consequence for unlawful decisions like this one in which the progressive court is forcing us to compromise principals for an amoral minority.

  11. I'd lay bets that the counrt wouldn't dare tell Muslims that they have to surrender their beliefs as a price of living in the United States. After all, the Muslims are only loyal to the Koran and it's crezy beliefs about killing non-believers.

  12. HA! We ALL must compromise??? The left-wing gays are not compromising - not at all. This is where the line is drawn - and this judge needs to be educated on the Constitution NOW!

  13. I say We, The People should expel gays/c-suckers and the like because their minds dwell on these issues--ending up doing heinous acts in/out of the public eye.
If they get caught, our laws will demand that they serve substantial time in prison, to segregate them from stalking normal humans who do not practice faggotry.

  15. Ok, for one, homophobic means to be afraid of homosexuals, we are not afraid of them, we think their lifestyle is immoral. And suing somebody because they have a different set of standards that prevents them from serving someone is just as bad if not worse than anything a christian/muslim/jew could do. Homosexuals are trying to throw Christians into traffic, per se, and run them out of business, house and home because we disagree with them. That's just as bigoted as anything we could do.

  16. The judge is the un glued one. I think that when he was sworn in as a "judge", he swore upon a bible, to uphold the laws of the nation. So here he is, taking away a person rights, just to appease a couple of queers. Yes I used the Q word. That shows you how old I am. In my day, that is what they were called and they accepted it. It looks like citizenship is going down the drain. You don't have to be a citizen any more to be a president.

  17. ALL WE NEED TO DO IS TO REMOVE THIS "JUDGES" AND RETURN TO A NATION WHICH RESPECTS TRUE CITIZENSHIP, BY VIRTUE OF RESPECTING ONE'S DEEPLY HELD RELIGIOUS BELIEFS!!! ANY JUDGE WHO REJECTS THAT SHOULD BE REJECTED AND EJECTED FROM THE BENCH!!! PERIOD!!!
