Tea Party Activist Speaks On False Accusation Of Being The Colorado Gunman

John Michael Holmes, the Tea Party activist that ABC's George Stephanopoulos and Brian Ross falsely and sloppily accussed of being the Colorado gunman, broke his silence over the slander.

Calling the entire ABC incident "freaky," the 52 year-old Hispanic man claimed that he had to disconnect his phone and that he is concerned that members of the media may call members of his family.

As you may already know, the un-biased Brian Ross with ABC was apparently so anxious to pin this horrendous and tragic offense on a member of the Tea Party that he speculated, on air, that the "James Holmes" who maintained a local Tea Party site on the Internet had to be the gunman, even though a search of local phone books would have shown that over two dozen men named James Holmes resided in the vicinity.

ABC's first "correction" of the slander was far from an apology and lamely attempted to deflect blame on social media websites: "An earlier ABC News broadcast report suggested that a Jim Holmes of a Colorado Tea Party organization might be the suspect, but that report was incorrect. Several other local residents with similar names were also contacted via social media by members of the public who mistook them for the suspect."

Later, ABC amended its correction and actually used the word "apology" in the statement: "An earlier ABC News broadcast report suggested that a Jim Holmes of a Colorado Tea Party organization might be the suspect, but that report was incorrect. ABC News and Brian Ross apologize for the mistake, and for disseminating that information before it was properly vetted."

Fortunately, there are no reports that any of the other James Holmes in the area of the shooting, or their immediate and extended family members, were harmed by individuals who may have acted on ABC's slanderous report; but ABC's Opps-Our-Bad attitude is far from adequate or acceptable.

Keep in mind, we're talking about members of the same liberal media who arrogantly scoff when people suggest that Barack Obama produce his college records or a copy of a "birth certificate" that is not a digitally-doctored document.

They have no problem pushing propaganda and conspiracy theories when it suits their agenda. Some form of repentance is required... perhaps an entire week of actually reporting the news objectively might be in order, assuming any one in the media is cable of accomplishing such a task.
