Boehner Waffles On Defunding ObamaCare

Repeal is not the only option Republicans have in their bag of tricks to stop the implementation of ObamaCare before the November election. Defunding ObamaCare should also be on the table. But don't tell John Boehner.  He might not want to hear it!

It's simple really: if House Republicans include specific language, which directly prohibits the Obama administration from making use of any cash to implement ObamaCare in the budget to fund the government past September 30, the administration will be unable to go forward with ObamaCare.
However, when a member of the press threw him a softball question, Speaker of the House John Boehner would not assert whether or not he plans to allow funding for ObamaCare in legislation Congress enacts to keep the federal government funded after the end of the fiscal year.

At a news conference, Speaker Boehner was asked, “Do you intend, as many House conservatives are asking you, to deny funding to ObamaCare, which would include defunding the HHS sterilization-contraception-abortifacient mandate?

Boehner replied, “You know, I’ve not seen this letter yet, but I’ve read that I’m about to get one. So when I get it, when I get it, then I’ll be able to comment on it.”

At the time of the press conference, at least 80 Republicans had already signed the letter, including Reps. Michele Bachmann, Steve King, Jim Jordan, Allen West, Trent Franks and Louie Gohmert; and presently, there are over 100 signatures on the letter.

Of course, moving forward with such a strategy will invite another threat from Harry Reid and Barack Obama to shut down the government... and only a month before the election to boot.

Does Boehner have the stomach to do whatever it takes to actually block ObamaCare?  Only time will tell.

A CLOSET LIBERAL..I HAVE NO TRUST IN BOEHNER..IT WOULD BE NICE IF THE PUBLIC COULD ELECT THE HOUSE SPEAKER BUT IT WON'T BE IN MY LIFETIME...

  3. It appears Boehner is another Roberts...a liberal wolf in conservative sheep clothing. Both men are traitors to our country. Seems no way we can get them out.

  5. Boehner is a major stumbling block in the House because he's a stumblebum with no cojones. The American people want Oboycare stopped dead in it's tracks so give the people what they want not what Oboy wants. Boehner was elected to represent the people, not the President. This is a Constitutional Republic with a Government of the People, for the People, and by the People. The Founders placed all their emphasis on the congress for the function of government, not the President who's just one man capable of inflicting more harm than good. At present all of them including the POTUS are self serving for and among themselves with accompanying elitist snobbery.

Call Speaker Boehner at his DC office, 202-225-4000. If he cannot handle the job, resign. It is time for action in repealing Obamacare.
