Who Are The Seven RINOs That Voted Against Banning Sex-Selective Abortions?

(ACN Staff) The House of Representatives failed to pass a bill that would ban sex selective abortions on Thursday.  Although a majority voted in favor of the bill (246-168), the measure reqired a two-thirds majority vote to pass.  Many may be under the impression that the final vote tally was along party lines; however 20 Democrats actually voted in favor of the ban and shockingly, seven Republicans votes against banning sex selective abortions.  Those Republicans were...

Justine Amash (R-MI), Charles Bass (R-NH), Mary Bono Mack (R-CA), Robert Dold (R-IL), Richard Hanna (R-NY), Nan Hayworth (R-NY) and Ron Paul (R-TX).  You can view the full list of congressmen voting for and against the measure here.

  1. Note that Ron Paul voted against the ban. His son Rand must be livid.

    1. Ron Paul would vote against the Federal Government intrusion into any of our personal choices. That is a state issue, and though he may agree with the ban, it is not the Federal Government's authority to mandate it. Education, not dictation, first. Second, follow the Constitution. Tough call here, however if you give the Feds the right to ban it, you give them the right to force it!

  2. I wonder how RAND Paul would have voted? He seems good, but I'm going to keep a better eye on him.

  3. People just don't understand Ron Paul. He is strict, uncompromising constitutionalist. If he thinks the government is overstepping it's bounds he will vote against it, even if it may be a good idea. He is certainly against abortion and his record, in public and private life, proves it. The others in congress are just having knee jerk reactions and voting what they think the public is demanding at the time. At least Dr. Paul is consistent and not blowing in the wind.

    1. If Ron Paul is against abortion, then he should have had no trouble voting for this. Certainly does not seem like consistency to me.

    2. Paul is a waste and this proves he is proabortion and he supports the despicable methodes of China that has been condemned by decent people for years. I am sick of Paul he needs to go back to Texas.

    4. The ignorance displayed in these attacks on Ron Paul explains why politicians say only what we want to hear. I repeat what I said earlier: Ron Paul knows that if you give the Feds the right to ban something, you give them the right to force it. Forced selective abortion is not something we want in America. Save this for the State's authority.

    5. One thing Ron Paul is not, is wishy washy. He understands the importance of following the constitution. Fred Van Liew is absolutely correct. The federal govt has no more authority on the selective abortion issue (as wrong as it is) than forcing you to buy health insurance.

    6. Nonsense. Ron Paul regularly tramples the Constitution that he's sworn to uphold.

For instance, he pretends the federal government has no constitutional authority to spend money overseas, even though George Washington's administration spent 1/6-th of its budget on direct payments to foreign governments. That's Ron Paul's flimsy excuse for opposing PEPFAR, despite the millions(!!) of lives it saves, and the huge boost it gives to American prestige in the world.

Here's another example. Article 1, Sec. 8, paragraph 10 of the Constitution specifically authorizes the federal government to define and punish offenses against the Law of Nations (international law), and there's no clearer violation of international law than genocide. But Paul says even GENOCIDE overseas is not our concern, and we shouldn't even send FOOD aid to genocide victims:
      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gI5MKFoFda0
(be sure to listen all the way to the end, to hear the serious candidates' excellent rebuttals)

The notion that the federal gov't has no constitutional authority to interfere with genocide is purest nonsense.

Another example: Ron Paul pretends that that the Interstate Commerce Clause doesn't even cover interstate commerce! He not only voted against outlawing sex-selection abortions, he claims the federal government is without authority to restrict or regulate transporting of underage girls across state lines to procure out-of-state abortions without their parents' knowledge. It's obviously interstate commerce, so the federal government plainly has authority. Yet Ron Paul has repeatedly joined Democrats in defending that appalling practice from federal interference. Google "CIANA" for details, or see these sites:

Ron Paul doesn't just lie about the Constitution, either. He lies about his opponents, and other things, too. For instance, he lies about his own newsletters!

In 1995 Ron Paul told CSPAN that "I put out" the newsletters, which had titles like "The Ron Paul Investment Letter," "The Ron Paul Political Report," "The Ron Paul Survival Report," and "The Ron Paul Political Report: Special Issue on Racial Terrorism." Among many other outrageous things, his newsletters accused MLK Jr. of seducing underage girls & boys, and cheered for David Duke (the former KKK Grand Wizard), likening him to John Wayne.

In 1996, Ron Paul defended the newsletters to the Dallas Morning News, and specifically defended calling "95%" of black men in Washington, DC "semi-criminal or entirely criminal." He said his words were taken out of context (which they weren't).

But now he says he didn't write the newsletters which bore his name, and doesn't know who wrote them, and didn't even know what was in them. (His own secretary says he proofread them!)

When you lie as much as Ron Paul does, it's hard to keep your story straight, but there are still gullible people who believe him, anyhow. See:

    7. Ron Paul's racist newsletters were no aberration, either. He published them for years, marketing them to white supremacists and survivalists.

Pandering to creepy nutcases is a consistent habit for Ron Paul. Now he panders to 9-11 "Truthers" like his friends, Lew Rockwell & Alex Jones, and this one:
      http://youtube.com/watch?v=3u0tgNUfOL8

Jones and Paul are tight. Paul's been on Jones' radio show over 200 times. Here's Alex Jones talking about conservatives:

Jones "thinks" (I use the word loosely) secret conspiracies or space aliens are "the world's controllers." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z44YhGjX2is

He says the government is intentionally poisoning you with vaccines and fluoride to keep you docile.

Here he is in action, abusing Michelle Malkin:
      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i-DoxqvqjxM

Obama finally disassociated himself from Jeremiah Wrightm but Ron Paul won't disassociate himself from Alex Jones.

After Ron Paul failed to win the nomination, he petulantly refused to endorse Romney/Ryan, just as he'd refused to endorse McCain. ObamaCare wouldn't have happened w/o Ron Paul's repeated betrayals, and the Bircher & libertarian nutjobs' incessant & often dishonest attacks on conservatives and the GOP. Now we're stuck with it.

So here's what we can look forward to in a few decades:

Be sure to remember, 30 years from now, to thank Ron Paul supporters for ObamaCare, as you wait 6 months for an MRI scan (like Canadians already do), while your suspected cancer metastasizes, or as you wait 3 years, in misery, to get your gall bladder removed, or as you live out your last few years in a wheelchair because, at your age, you'll never get to the top of the waiting list for a new knee.

Thank them, too, as your baby granddaughter is dehydrated to death to rid society of the burden of her disabilities, like they do in the UK:

  4. Ron Paul has repeatedly stated that abortion is not a federal issue, but a state issue, that Roe versus Wade was wrong, because it forced federal law onto states, and that we will not vote for any federal law about abortion infringing on states' rights. You might disagree with his philosophy, but his vote on this bill was consistent what he has said before.

    1. But the taking of a human life, as abortion does, transcends State boundries.

However, how does the government prove that an abortion was because of the sex of the baby? The parents, or mother, knowing that a law existed, certainly would not declare that the intent to abort was because of sex.

The bill and the vote was more for show, than getting anything passed.

    2. The declaration of independence states the right to life is an inalienable right. How is then abortion not a federal issue?

While everyone is enjoying bashing Paul, ya'll forget an important point. This legislation isn't worth the paper it's written on. Our abortion statute is abortion on demand. If a woman wants to abort due to sex of the child she doesn't have to give a reason. So, this vote would have been useless anyway. Just another policial move to say "see we're not Communists" Yet!

  6. wow the far right is hell bent on controlling every aspect of life and their supporters are far more retarded than i thought for falling for an angled bill such as this one. ron paul is the best thing your party has right now and you idiots support romney for mysterious reasons lol

  7. Roe V Wade is a federal law forcing states into line. This is a federal law that counters Roe V Wade. I understand wanting to keep federal separate from infringing on the states. Roe V Wade trespassed on states rights decades ago.

  8. I've read that women are coming from abroad to avail themselves of sex-selective abortion. They are told they are carrying a female child; their country bans abortion on grounds of sex-selection; so they come here. We are supposedly the last "civilized" nation to allow this. The Chinese no longer have to throw their girl babies into the river; we'll do it for them. That's what this ban was about. Personally, I don't like being the trash can for the world's "medical waste". To me, we are "hired murderers".

  9. Ron Paul would probably want slavery to be a states' rights issue, too. He thinks the Tenth Amendment is the entire Constitution. He ought to read the rest of the Constitution, and so should his followers.

  10. Why should anybody be upset about abortion? Liberals will engage in it while conservatives mostly will not, so wouldn't it actually be helpful to conservatives if liberals destroy themselves and reduce their numbers?

This may be a little sick, but it's true.

You might be upset if your son's wife decided to abort a baby girl and you knew he did not approve! I am sure there are other examples. It also occurs to me that you have a values problem and do not value life. How about your own? Perhaps, you should do the world a favor and consider your own demise. Actually, I oppose that also despite immature thoughts.

    1. Ron Paul is a cancer on the Republican Party.

Among the factors which hurt us nationally was the resurgent nutjob wing at the Right end of the political spectrum: the Birchers and many of the libertarians, led by loose cannons like Ron Paul, Alex Jones & Jerome Corsi, who smeared President Bush[1], persuaded many gullible people of the Big Lie that there's no difference between the two major parties, and cost the GOP many votes.

Be sure to remember, 30 years from now, to thank those people for ObamaCare, as you wait 6 months for an MRI scan, like Canadians already do, while your suspected cancer metastasizes, or as you wait 3 years, in misery, to get your gall bladder removed, or as you live out your last few years in a wheelchair because, at your age, you'll never get to the top of the waiting list for a new knee.[2][3]

Thank them, too, as your baby granddaughter is dehydrated to death to rid society of the burden of her disabilities, like they do in the UK.[4]

ObamaCare would not have happened w/o the Bircher and libertarian nutjobs' incessant & often dishonest attacks on conservatives and the GOP.

I miss the days when the nutjobs were all on the Left.
