RNC Chairman Reince Priebus Calls GOP Base 'Old Testament Heretics' On 'Same-Sex Marriage' Issue

Reince Priebus raised eyebrows when he smeared grassroots Republicans as "Old Testament heretics" and admonished rank-and-file Republicans, as Cheryl K. Chumley in The Washington Times put it, to "get in the 21st century with same-sex-marriage."

Priebus goes on to state in a USA Today video: "We do have a platform, and we adhere to that platform. But it doesn’t mean that we divide and subtract people from our party.”

Strangely, it would appear that Priebus hasn't even bothered to read the 2012 GOP Platform which calls so-calls "same-sex marriage" an "assault on the foundations of our society" and calls for "A Sacred Contract" on the "Defense of Marriage."

  1. Priebus is not speaking for most Republicans in advocating approval of homosexual practice. Do we need a change in leadership of the Republican party?

    1. Absolutely we need a change. We need not subtract anyone from the party, but we can protect the institution of marriage.

    2. A change in the bureaucrats who are NOT leaders but panderers. There are conservative homosexuals who do not agree with sodomite marriage. Preibus obviosly has too much ego. he can have his own opinions, but he shows what he is by insulting those who disagree with him.

  2. Another reason to abandon the republican party. Time to form a TRUE conservative party that sticks to the Constitution.

    1. Agree. If there is no difference in the two parties what difference does it make, to borrow from Hillary. They can do it without me.

  3. Priebus needs to step down or there will be no RNC. If we don't stand on principles, we'll fall for anything!

  4. Priebus has seen the last contribution from myself, family and associates until he has resigned as RNC Chair and the same goes for the slippery apostate Carl Rove. This disingenuous, Neo-Marxist ilk has to be removed by all means possible.

    2. We are much smarter than this.Reince must go. We do not leave the Republican party for the divided ticket would assure a Democrat victory and that would seal the deal on a dead America.
Rather, we must activate the base, continue to educate yourself and get brave. Educate your family, friends, neighbors, write letters to every local newspaper and call the talk shows. Don't shoot off you mouth unless you know of what you speak. There are sound places to get information, Mark Levin tops the list, Rush and Hannity make very few mistakes. Heritage Foundation is real good. Hillsdale College is GIVING AWAY a free course on line taught by top profs. Stir it up. Don't quit - don't give up our party - take it back!

  6. The RNC has seen the last dime from me. As for GOP Candidates, I can no longer support them either. I am finished with all who would call the GOP their party. Living in Ohio, I am exceptionally upset with all the GOP stands for. First the one Senator I thought I could trust turns on his pronounced principles and decides to support homosexual marriage because he has a homosexual son. Next, I find that the leader of the republican party of Ohio is a homosexual activist bent on getting homo support within the party. Therefore, I have had it! Either we put together a new party of I quit entirely!

  7. It's about time for the Republican Party to look to the state leaders (and get rid of some of them). During the the 2012 elections, the 'Party" did not back incumbent Chip Craavak in District 8 and did nothing on the Romney campaign that was evident to us the voters in the Minnesota area. How can the Republican party hope to succeed if they don't even back the Republican candidates????
