Republicans Make Excuses Over Why Barack Obama Shouldn't Be Impeached
You know your calls and faxes to Washington are having an effect when Republicans step forward and start trying to float "alternate plans" as to what should be done instead of impeaching Barack Hussein Obama...
Case in point, Congressman Paul Gosar is now telling people that instead of impeachment, Congress should simply refuse to confirm any of Barack Obama's political appointees. Of course, as Buzzfeed points out, Gosar is a member of the House of Representatives and the power to confirm presidential appointees rests solely with the Senate.
"Speaking in Parker, Arizona, Gosar, a Republican serving in Congress since 2011, said that all people appointed by Obama should be blocked, no matter 'how good of a person you are.'
"'You may not be able to impeach a president,' he said. 'But boy I tell you what: remember, we have the right of advise and confer. Nobody gets confirmed. Nada. Nobody. None. I don’t care how good of a person you are. You’re not gonna get it.'
"The House of Representatives does not confirm presidential appointments. That power rests solely with the Senate."...
