Republicans Give McConnell Standing Ovation After Debt Ceiling Betrayal
Right after Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell voted to give Barack Obama a
blank check to spend this nation into bankruptcy, Senators cheered him for
"taking one for the team," and it wasn't Democrats doing the cheering... it was
Republicans.

(NRO) Before McConnell entered, several senators had told the crowd that they admired his willingness to take one for the team and make a politically fraught vote.
More than half a dozen senators were there, per one attendee, including Johnny Isakson, Roger Wicker, John Barrasso, Jim Risch, and Orrin Hatch. A source says Hatch, Isakson, Risch, and Wicker all made very favorable public comments about McConnell and his decision to vote for cloture. The source adds that Senator Ted Cruz was not in attendance.
A GOP Senate aide tells NRO that there’s “a very broad understanding” among upper-chamber Republicans that McConnell’s “yes” vote was necessary for the good of his colleagues and the Senate Republican conference. Now, that certainly isn’t a consensus among Hill Republicans. But for McConnell’s supporters there, it’s not up for debate.

Who will be the next turncoat?
ReplyDeleteThe details of this week's political SELLOUT by Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) and his RINO buddies in the Senate are absolutely shocking ... even shameful.
ReplyDeleteDuring a crucial vote Wednesday to raise the debt ceiling and give the Obama administration unlimited power to borrow until next year, the RINOs actually conspired with Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) to defeat a Tea Party-led filibuster.
It was one of the most blatant examples of a cowardly SELLOUT we have witnessed on Capitol Hill ... EVER! Here's what happened:
+ + RINOs Conspire With Reid To Hide Votes!
The normal process is for each Senator's vote to be announced from the floor (and on CSPAN) as his or her vote is made. Senators can change their votes while the vote is under way, and this is announced as well. But the Reid/McConnell Big-Government Axis didn't know if they had enough votes.
So according to the Associated Press and other sources, 15 minutes after the vote began, a decision was made to keep the votes private until the very end. The AP reports that a Harry Reid spokesman said the Senate Majority Leader "consented to Republicans' request."
Fearing public scrutiny as their votes were cast, Republicans asked Reid to HIDE THEIR VOTES!
+ + McConnell Leads The SELLOUT
It's no wonder real conservatives are disgusted with the RINO'S
No matter what Huckabee says there is no other name they can be called but RINO.
With the vote in limbo, Minority Leader McConnell and Minority Whip John Cornyn (R-TX) "went to the well" and cast their votes in favor of the debt-ceiling sellout.
That gave the vote counters the 60 votes needed to end the Tea Party-led filibuster. Then, seven more Republicans went over the cliff. When the smoke cleared, a total of 12 GOP Sellouts emerged in the Senate.
+ + Will You Stand For This?
