(Washington Examiner) Controversial Toronto Mayor Rob Ford slammed President Obama's signature legislative achievement on Thursday, saying that Obamacare is going to cost the U.S. "a fortune."
"I don't believe in all this public-funded health care, because we gotta pay for it," said the embattled mayor in an interview with 106.7 The Fan, a Washington, D.C.-area sports radio channel.
Ford, who has faced calls to resign from office after admitting to smoking crack cocaine and having an alcohol problem, said that Canada could not pay for such a costly law.
"We can’t afford it," said Ford. "What you guys are doing down there, I just, I can’t get my head around it because it’s costing a fortune."
