Vandals Burn Statue Of Ronald Reagan

A statue unveiled last year at a California park is heavily damaged following an attack by an unknown number of vandals. The monument, bearing a life-size likeness of Ronald Reagan, was heavily burned in what is being called an apparent arson.

(Western Journalism) The man many conservatives consider America’s greatest modern president was immortalized in bronze to welcome visitors to a Temecula, Calif., sports park that bears his name. Authorities report the torched statue was left blackened after the vandalism, indicating several surrounding decorative tiles were destroyed in the process.

Standing tall in the state for which he once served as governor, the Reagan monument is still in one piece. The charred sculpture will require extensive repairs to once again capture its previous luster, though.
