Obama's Approval Drops To Lowest Level In Gallup Poll Since 2011

The percentage of Americans saying that they approve of the job Barack Obama is doing as president dropped to 41% in the Gallup poll's three-day tracking average, the lowest it has been since Dec. 28, 2011.

Obama's approval rating plunged in polling done the evening after he go a rare afternoon press conference.

In Gallup's three-day tracking period that ended on Thursday, Aug. 8, 44 percent had said they approve of the job he is doing and 46 percent said they disapproved. One day later, in the tracking period that ended on Friday, Aug. 9, Obama's approval was at 41 percent and his disapproval at 50 percent.
