Zimmerman Prosecuter Indicted By Grand Jury

They say what goes around comes around...

(PRNewswire) Florida State's Attorney Angela Corey has been indicted by a citizens' grand jury, convening in Ocala, Florida, over the alleged falsification of the arrest warrant and complaint that lead to George Zimmerman being charged with the second degree murder of African-American teenager Trayvon Martin in Sanford, Florida.

The indictment of Corey, which was handed down last week, charges Corey with intentionally withholding photographic evidence of the injuries to George Zimmerman's head in the warrant she allegedly rushed to issue under oath, in an effort to boost her reelection prospects.

At the outset of this case, black activists such as Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton, who whipped up wrath against Zimmerman, demanded that he be charged with murder, after local police had thus far declined to arrest him pending investigation.

  3. I remember when Corey came out at the press conference to announce that Zimmerman was going to be charged with 2nd degree murder. She was all smiles and looked more like she was announcing the big winner of the Florida Lottery. We'll see if she's still smiling after this indictment. Talk about rush to judgement.

  5. We thought the same thing, and we thought the judge was also biased against Zimmerman. What these people will do to get the policial hacks like Jackson and Sharpton. I heard a good phrase for those two today and it was that they were pimps using the black people for their own benefit to live their high life. When are they going to wake up?????

  8. What about Marissa Alexander?
    Corey was involved there too.
Alexander got 20 years for firing a warning shot to stop her husband from attacking her.

She was wrong in firing a warning shot, but 20 years?

    1. Hopefully she can get a re trial. The fact that he ignored the restraining order should have prevented her from being tried.

  10. Umm, correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought the phrase "citizens' grand jury" was curious, so I did some checking. This is not an official grand jury issuing a real indictment that has any legal force. Rather, this is basically a press release by a political group expressing disapproval of the prosecution of Mr Zimmerman. They wrote their press release to look like a legal indictment. The article is highly misleading in describing it as if it was an actual legal indictment. Or if the group calling itself "Citizens' Grand Jury" really believes that they should be recognized as a real grand jury, there is no indication that the state government of Florida agrees with them and is about to arrest someone based on their indictment.
