Michael Barone: TEA Party 'Wackos, Weirdos And Witches' Cost GOP The Election

Even GOP power brokers who crunch numbers for a living refuse to acknowledge the reality that the Mitt Romney lost because the GOP failed to advance a conservative vision for the future. Watch as GOP-establishment "analyst" Michael Barone take a break from reality as he tells an audience in Washington that Republicans lost because they put “too many” tea party “wackos, weirdos and witches” on the ballot.

Barone went on and on about Richard Mourdock and Todd Akin but what about Linda McMahon, Scott Brown, Heather Wilson, Pete Hoekstra, George Allen (the list goes on) and all of the candidates who were acceptable to the GOP-establishment who got their hats handed to them?

  1. NEWS FLASH!!! Barone's a North Easterner, TOO!!! Same Ivy league Schools, from Union Michigan to Washington DC, so what can we expect?

Why does he think that people stayed home?!?? Because they were afraid of.... Tea Party? Romney WASN'T conservative, didn't even pretend to be. People stayed home for 2 basic reasons - Dems/undecideds stayed home because they were hoping that if they did, "O" wouldn't get reelected & blamed on them; Reps/Conservatives didn't vote because they flat-out didn't see that much difference & KNEW what they were geting w/O but R/R was unknown. Simple as that. That's why even for an election that was supposed to be SO important there were 2 MILLION fewer voters than 2008!

  2. Barone is an idiot. He is just like the rest of the political hacks who refuse to look in the mirror. The Republicans lost because they refused to give the electorate a real choice. Voting for Obumma "lite" or voting for Obumma? No big deal. When you fail to use the power of the purse in the House to refuse funding and then become complicit in the nightmares enactment, you deserve to lose. Gee, good thing Ron Paul wasn't the nominee, or you might have lost BIG. Might even have given Obumma 330+ electoral votes

  4. If Barone is right (and I think he is) how do you think the Republican party will fare in future elections if it keeps moving to the right on social issues?

  5. They'd win... that's the point.

  6. No, it wasn't because of that nonsense, it was because of the democratic cheats who rigged election booths and voted, using people who were dead, and the standard liberal voter fraud, to win the election for that SOB "illegal alien!"
