Video: As Evidence Of Team Obama Lawbreaking Surfaces: Wimpy RNC Simply Says They "Lied"
The newest commercial from the RNC which claims that Barack Obama's Deputy
Campaign Manager Stephanie Cutler lied may already be old news, but there is
still an un-asked question that the RNC is very wimpily neglecting to explore or
even mention; namely, did Cutler also break the law? And, if so, did anyone over
at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue know of Cutler's actions and thereby violate the law
as well.
We already know that Cutler lied. The video doesn't leave much room for doubt.
It's implausible for Cutler to say, “I don’t know the facts” about Soptic, only
weeks after hosting a conference call with reporters where she invited Soptic to
tell his story.
The RNC released a statement on the YouTube page where they initially posted
the video: "The Republican National Committee releases 'What Else?' as President
Obama's campaign continues to lie about its relationship with the disgusting ad
put out by President Obama's Super PAC. After refusing to denounce the lies and
distortion of the ad, the Obama campaign repeatedly claimed it had no idea about
Joe Soptic's story even though they had him tell the same story during an OFA
conference call earlier this spring. So, their actions beg the question-what
else are they lying about?"
"What else are they lying about indeed."
Relying on advisories from the Federal Election Commission (FEC), Wikipedia
states: "Super PACs are not allowed to coordinate directly with candidates or
political parties. This is intended to prevent them from operating campaigns
that complement or parallel those of the candidates they support or engaging in
negotiation that could result in quid pro quo bargaining between donors to the
PAC and the candidate or officeholder."
Commentator Pat Buchanan accused the Obama White House of "cynical silence" and
of being "complicit in this moral atrocity" in regards to the incident. Is it
unreasonable to ask just how deep the White House's complicity goes, and exactly
who in the White House may be complicit, when one considers the distinct
possibility that criminal activity may have taken place?
Cutler's actions certainly rouse suspicion. First the Obama campaign uses Soptic
in a commercial attacking Mitt Romney. Then Cutler invites Soptic to speak on a
conference call with reports. Then a Super PAC features Coptic and his story in
a totally separate ad. The chain of events could have been dismissed as a
coincidence or a totally uncoordinated attempt by the Super PAC to piggy-back
off of something the Obama campaign had already done.
But then, Cutler lied. And we are left to ask why... why did she see the need to
lie?
Of course, the fact that Cutler is clearly lying is not conclusive and
cut-and-dry proof that actual "coordination" took place, but where there is
smoke, there is fire, and there's enough smoke here to engulf an entire city. At
the very least, Cutler's lie is more than enough to warrant an investigation,
even by the liberal media's own standards.
Less than two months ago, The Washington Post agonized that the Romney campaign
may be coordinating with Super PACs connected to Karl Rove simply because Rove
attended a get-together hosted by Romney.
"Republican candidate Mitt Romney is hosting GOP strategist Karl Rove at a
retreat for his biggest donors in Utah this weekend, raising objections about
coordination between Romney’s presidential campaign and two interest groups
advised by Rove, American Crossroads and Crossroads GPS."
Did Cutler and a Super PAC that supports Mr. Obama's candidacy coordinate their
efforts and, if so, what did the White House know and when did they know it.
It's a question that begs to be answered if only someone would ask it? Are you
listening Mr. Boehner... Mr. McConnell?
