The Jim Henson Company posted the following announcement to its
Facebook page:
"The Jim Henson Company has celebrated and embraced diversity and inclusiveness
for over fifty years and we have notified Chick-Fil-A that we do not wish to
partner with them on any future endeavors. Lisa Henson, our CEO is personally a
strong supporter of gay marriage and has directed us to donate the payment we
received from Chick-fil-A to GLAAD."
Henson is referring to a recent joint campaign that the Henson Company conducted
in partnership with Chick-fil-A to promote the Henson Company's toys in the kids
meals that are sold at Chick-fil-A.
Of course, the irony and hypocrisy of Henson's stance is apparent. Once again,
those who demand "tolerance" and "diversity" ... or else, have shown not only
that they don't know the meaning of the words, but that calls for "tolerance"
have historically always been enforced through tyranny.
Chuck Heston once said that "political correctness is tyranny with a happy
face" but when it comes to the Public Relations Reign of Terror against Chick-fil-A
that is beginning to unfold,
blogger Tim Brown may have stated best what is transpiring and what is
to come.
"While The Henson Company and others are targeting Chick-Fil-A as intolerant,
Chick-Fil-A continues to serve homosexuals and some claim they have even hired
some. The point of this should be clear. Chick-Fil-A takes a stand on an issue
and they don’t bar people from entering their establishment. They serve everyone
equal. But the liberals in our society, well they are a horse of a different
color. They will boycott you in a minute. They will sling mud and names around
and try to cast you out of society unless you bow to their god and their
morality."

Yay Kermit and Miss Piggy!
ReplyDeleteCathy supports "biblical" marriage? Gimme a break! Does he mean mulitple wives, or just a few concubines?
This answer proves the point about mud slinging and name calling.
DeleteThis doesn't surprise me. Around 30 years ago there was an episode of Sesame Street where the topic of the day's discussion was masturbation. One of the so- called "grown ups" was explaining how important it was for boys to learn how to masturbate, otherwise too much semen would build up, if it was not released from a boy's body. One of the little girls on the show asked, "Does it hurt when a boy squirts semen?" She was told that she should use the word, "ejaculate." Then she was informed that it help a boy feel really good.
ReplyDeleteThat is when my kids stop watching this "EDUCATIONAL" show!
I'm a hardcore conservative who rejects all forms of leftism/liberalism and actively opposes it with both time and money, but I don't recall any episode where Sesame Street talked about masturbation.
DeleteI think you're making this up and it's just a joke. LOL
The most controversial Sesame Street episode I've ever heard of was an episode in South Africa when they talked about AIDS to kids. Besides that, Sesame Street hasn't been controversial in its programs. Maybe the people running it have, but not the stuff kids see on PBS.
