School Principal Rules: God Bless America Is Age Inappropriate But Raunchy Justine Bieber Song Is Okay

(GOPUSA.com) Here we go again. Someone has a bizarre take on what it means for a song to be "offensive." In this case, a school principal is demanding that a school graduation program remove the song "God Bless the USA," because it may offend other cultures and that it is not "age appropriate" for the children involved. However, a Justin Beiber song titled "Baby" is fine with the same administration. Ridiculous!


The New York Post is reporting that "Greta Hawkins, principal of PS 90, the Edna Cohen School, won't allow kindergartners to belt out the beloved Lee Greenwood ballad, also known as "Proud to be an American," at their moving-up ceremony.

Why? According to the NY Post, she "marched in" on a rehearsal of the program, told the teachers to pull the song from the line-up, and said, "We don't want to offend other cultures.
