(Washington Examiner) One of the five Taliban leaders traded last year for captured U.S. Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl is suspected of returning to the fight, CNN reported Thursday, citing unnamed U.S. officials.
The leader, whose identity was not revealed, is believed to still be in Qatar, which agreed when it mediated the prisoner swap in May 2014 to keep them there for a year. CNN said there is a debate within the Obama administration over how strong the information is about the leader's return to the fight, but he is at least suspected of having done so.
