Another Democrat Politician Busted For Taking Bribes

(NY Daily News) Bronx Assemblyman Eric Stevenson, sold out by one of his corrupt colleagues, was charged Thursday with pocketing nearly $20,000 in bribes to help the developers of two adult day care centers.

Stevenson was busted with the cooperation of Assemblyman Nelson Castro, a fellow Bronx Democrat — and Stevenson could be just the first of Castro’s targets to fall. In a statement Thursday in which he announced his resignation from the Assembly, Castro reveals that he’s worked with the U.S. Attorney and the Bronx District Attorney on "various investigations aimed at rooting out public corruption” and adds that the Stevenson bust is “one result of this cooperation, among other things."
