Karl Rove Puts Another Republican In The Crosshairs

Does Karl Rove even bother to go after Democrats? Has he ever? On Thursday, yet another conservative in Congress announced that he is "under attack" by Rove" ...

In an email sent out to supporters on Thursday, Congressman Steven King (R-IA) announced: "I'm under attack and I urgently need your help to fight back."

In this case however, Rove's attack appears to be a pre-emptive strike. King explains: "Since U.S. Senator Tom Harkin announced he will not seek re-election in 2014, rumors have swirled about whether I will run for his seat. I have not made a decision on this matter, but already Karl Rove and his army have launched a crusade against me."

King is being targeted by Rove's deceptively named "Conservative Victory Project," an offshoot of Rove's American Crossroads PAC and, in spite of it's name, it's already apparent to anyone with a pulse that the mission of Rove's new organization is to destroy the political aspirations of any conservative who dares to run on the Republican ticket.

It also appears that Rove's tactics haven't changed either. Steven Law who runs the so-called "Conservative Victory Project" told the New York Times that they're concerned over King's "Todd Akin problem" ... a rather perplexing statement seeing as Rove was Todd Akin's problem.

Moreover, other than a vague reference to "a candidate's discipline" and a statement from Law that "all of the things he's [King] said are going to be hung around his neck," the Times article provided no elaboration from Law on exactly what King has said in the past that would show evidence of his "discipline problems."

Of course, we're certain that details will be forthcoming. As Rove did to Akin, it's more than certain that he will dig through statements King has made over the years until he finds something that can be twisted out of context and shopped to an all-too-willing media that, like Rove, is all too anxious to ruin the career of conservative politicians.

In a related story, another of Karl Rove's aides recently lashed out at conservative-icon Brent Bozell as a "hater" with "a long, sordid history" and "weird personal axes to grind."

  2. How do we get rid of Rove? He's a worm tongue, a cancer that needs to be removed, a danger to all that we are trying to achieve for this country. I wish Fox would back away from him but I would really like it if their was a way to send him running. He needs to crawl back to whatever slime he came from.

  4. Who appointed Karl Rove to be judge and jury as to who is a worthy Republican candidate for office? His ego has gone to his brain. Karl, just simply shut the hell up, and enjoy your spoils like all the other career politicians!

  6. IN answer to the above 5 responsives; I would say he has experiences; he has been in the politicial scene; he has 3 races GOP lost due to the support groups not looking deep enough into a person back ground. You want to win; put in winnable canidates; Stay with standards; but some things like abortion can not be won with one canidate. You will only win with education on that issue. Gay marriage; again education with more help from the SILENT CHURCHES, again a state issue. Protection of 1 & 2 amend stand strong; Keep tax low; balance spending; audit of Fed Reserve & wiser control of military spending these are the real issues to battle. D.W.ROBEY, OKLAHOMA
