Surprise: ObamaCare Mandates Sterilzations For Teens Without Parental Concent

You read that right, ObamaCare not only provides free sterilizations, courtesy of the American taxpayers, whether they object or not; it also provides free surgical sterilizations for girls as young as 12 years of age.

Moreover, CNS News and The New American are reporting that girls will also be eligible for free surgical sterilizations without parental consent or knowledge in accordance with state laws and Oregon already permits girls as young as 15 years of age to undergo these procedures without consent.

Remember when Nancy Pelosi said that we'd have to pass ObamaCare to find out what's in it. Well read it and weep.

According to a Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) regulation issued earlier this year: “Non-grandfathered plans and issuers are required to provide coverage without cost sharing consistent with these guidelines in the first plan year ... that begins on or after August 1, 2012.”

And according to the "guidelines," coverage shall be provided for “all Food and Drug Administration approved contraceptive methods, sterilization procedures, and patient education and counseling for all women with reproductive capacity.”

Of course, the "guidelines" fail to define the phrase "all women with reproductive capacity.” The New American resonably states: "Thus it would appear that HHS is requiring all new insurance plans to cover legal sterilizations for girls age 12 and older."

In plain English, according to the HHS ObamaCare mandate, any girl who is past the onset of menstruation is eligible for a free sterilization with parental consent, but the Pandora's Box that may be opened is already apparent.

In Oregon, a minor as young as 15 years of age is only required to sign a form stating that they are making an informed decision to be sterilized voluntarily with the understanding that the “decision will not affect [their] right to future care or treatment.”

It shouldn't take long for Planned Parenthood and the other ghouls of the zero-population growth movement to start lobbying the other 49 states to follow Oregon's example, or even worse, to take the decision out of the hands of a parent or guardian entirely by allowing a black-robed tyrant to order the procedure.

  1. I read the rest of the story. I read the comments (there are 5 at this time). No one mentioned the downside of reinforcing a cultural initiative to treat young girls as nothing more than sexual playthings. What's next? Requiring young girls to spend a couple years in an internship as a professional streetwalker? Come on, people! Do you really want your daughters to be used up and discarded like an old rag? No young girl nurtures dreams of being treated like a princess, just to end up being one of a serial harem?

  2. Ahh, population control knocking at the door. That's the bottom line with all these programs. You call it national healthcare so that you can justify the various population control methods. Sterilization, abortion and euthanasia.

  3. Russia developed Population control after 1918, 3 million dead for a start, Homeland Security orders 450 million rounds of hollow point ammo, for what? Population Control. What will it take to wake up Americans? Obama has just started, wait until he is reelected so he can complete his agenda. Study Agenda 21, study the Homeland Security Act, study the end of our Constitution and Bill of Rights. Will we have to ReVote to Restore this nation? Or surrender to Communism? Do you have the guts to elect Don Cordell for your next President, check Google and learn what I'll do for our nation.

  4. What a pile of crap. Too bad news media outlets don't treat politicians like they do on "The Newsroom". Time to force politicians to answer questions. If they don't answer, the interviewer simply says "I understand you perfectly. You refuse to answer the question."
